What are the foreground, midground, and background in composition? Provide an image for explanation.

The element of the photo closest to you makes up the foreground. The furthest element away from you is the background, while the middle ground makes up the area in between
What is depth of field?
It is the distance between the nearest and furthest subjects
It is the distance between the nearest and furthest subjects
What is deep depth of field? Provide an image for explanation.
It is a larger area in focus, as it keeps more of the image sharp and clear.
What is shallow depth of field? Provide an image for explanation.
In Fig 2.9. it is called narrow depth of field. It is the small or narrow area in an image that is in focus.

What is 180 degree rule (static screen direction)?
The rule states that the camera should be kept on one side of an imaginary axis between two characters, so that the first character is always frame right of the second character.
What is continuity in cinematography?
Continuity editing is an editing system used to maintain consistency of both time and space in the film.

Yes it does.

What is dynamic screen direction?
Screen direction is the direction that characters and objects move in the scene and preserving this continuity of motion is vital in film.

This exercise was slightly tough as there were some out takes included in the footage. I also had to arrange them according to the storyboard given.Fig 2.12. Prog

Answer the questions twice, separately for 1. Lalin, 2. Everything, everywhere, all at once.
1. LALIN
1. Which part is act 1, act 2, act 3 respectively? Describe each act with ONE paragraph only.
Act 1 stops right before it turns summer (at 3:22). Act 2 is from the summer sequence to NUT leaving the cafe, or when Lalin starts reading his book (around the 9:49 mark). Act 3 is from then till the end.
2. What is the inciting incident in the movie?
It was when Lalin was getting bullied in school (or when we found out she was getting bullied)
3. What is the midpoint scene in the movie?
When NUT told Lalin he was in Sapporo and wants to see her
4. What is the Climax scene in the movie?
When Lalin reads NUT's book and realises they have known each other
5.What is the theme of the movie?
Self-esteem and bullying
