Fig 2.1. Jellyfish

I decided to go with a jellyfish because I wanted to incorporate an animal of some kind. Jellyfishes are cute and has cute colour schemes.

A character I referenced is Frilled Jellyfish Cookie from the game Cookie Run. She has a cute design and a muted colour palette.

My initial designs were based off axolotls and bunnies. However, I could not seem to get any of them to work out. The humanoid character was heavily based on Sweetheart from 'OMORI', and I actually stuck with that design for a while. I scrapped it because it looked odd. Later on, I was brainstorming and eventually decided on a jellyfish.

I went with a pastel colour scheme to suit a jellyfish. (also because it's my favourite colour palette)

I added gradients using Illustrator's gradient tool since I did not really like how it looked before.
