Sketch

Fig 1.1. Sketch, Week 13 (18/12/2023)

Rationale : I wanted it to look like a music poster as music plays a huge role in my life. I chose the word 'Forward' as its not only the title of one of my favourite songs, but it can also represent moving forward in life despite things going wrong. Despite being known as the colour of sadness, blue is also associated with freedom and advancement

Fig 1.2. Original Image, Week 12 (14/12/2023)

I took this picture during Digital Photography & Imaging class. I was cosplaying Toya Aoyagi from Project Sekai in this.

Digitalization

Fig 1.3. Progress #1, Week 14 (3/1/2024)

I was playing around with some effects to make it more.. blue.

Fig 1.5. Progress #3, Week 14 (3/1/2024)

Here I played around with the blending modes of each shape. I used pin light, overlay and difference.

The effects used for the upside down text

Fig 1.7. Progress #4.1, Week 14 (7/1/2024)

Due to a misunderstanding, I had to change my word to 'shine.' 'in the night.' instead of 'forward' since my font did not have enough letters. However, shine works just as well as forward. To shine is to be the best version of yourself that you can be.

I moved to Illustrator to add extra elements to my poster such as the ones above.

Animating

I used turbulent displace for some (most) elements in my animation.

Fig 1.9. Progress #7, Week 14 (7/1/2024)

As I could not import AI files into AE, I used AE's pen tool to make the lines and animated it with the shape path.
